Continuing Education
The facilities at the Santa Barbara Foundation are unique in Spain for the practical application of lessons taught in the Mining school of different universities which offer this degree.

In order to fulfill this the Foundation has designed a series of short seminars, aimed at equating the student's degree in mining engineering, to the reality of production, maintenance and safety of a real exploitation, both open pit and underground.

The seminars that we offer universities are:

PRACTICAL WORKSHOP OF EXPLOSIVES DESTRUCTION

Objective: To acquire knowledge about the procedures used for the destruction of explosives and blasting accessories as well as acquire knowledge of the main civil explosives.
PRACTICAL CONSTRUCTION WORKSHOP OF UNDERGROUND WORKS

Objective: To apply the acquired knowledge and receive full scale practical training about the design and supervision in the construction of underground works.
PRACTICAL WORKSHOP SUPPORT OF UNDERGROUND WORKS

Objective: To apply the acquired knowledge and receive practical training on the full-scale maintenance of underground workings and shotcrete application.
PRACTICAL WORKSHOP IN OPENCAST MACHINERY

Objective: To become familiar with the controls and functions of the main machines used in opencast work as well as work procedures of such holdings.
PRACTICAL WORKSHOP IN AUTOMATIC GUIDANCE MACHINERY



Objective: To acquire knowledge about computers, software and methods used to calculate the geometry and running jobs with earthmoving machinery robots.
